2011 has been a very busy year for Tate & Tryon with a lot of exciting changes taking place since the beginning of the year. In addition to moving into a new and larger office space this past winter, we have hired 22 new staff since January within the Firm’s Audit, Outsourcing, Technology, and Tax divisions.
We are very fortunate to have had so many new hires this year especially in the midst of a very tough economy. Bringing a broad range of experience and skill sets, these new team members are a valuable asset for the Firm and highlight our continuing growth and dedication to serving our clients.
Christian Spencer, CPA, was hired this fall as a Senior Audit Manager and has more than 16 years of public accounting experience. Christian had previously worked with a national accounting firm where he specialized exclusively in nonprofit organizations for more than 13 years. Christian holds a BS in Accounting and Commerce from the University of Virginia.
Maureen Downs, CPA was recently hired as an Accounting Manager in the Firm’s Outsourcing department. Maureen had previously served as the chief financial executive at national nonprofit organization and brings over 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, human resource management and administrative services to the Firm. Maureen holds a BS in Accounting from Elizabethtown College.
John Kubichek, CPA, CFE, joined the Firm this past summer as Audit Supervisor. John is a graduate of Geneva College and has more than 13 years of experience in public accounting and is licensed as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Thanh Nguyen joined our Outsourcing department earlier this fall as an Accounting Supervisor and has more than 7 years of accounting experience. Thanh is a graduate of the University of Maryland and previously worked for Clark Enterprises as a senior accountant and for Rose Financial as an assistant controller.
Anthony Rice joined the Firm as a Consultant for the Firm’s technology division, T3 Information Systems. Anthony has more than 10 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and SL and is also a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Alexis George, CPA, was hired earlier this fall as a Supervising Senior Accountant and has more than 10 years of accounting experience. Alexis holds a BS and MS in accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Meena Modha joined us over the summer as a Supervising Senior Accountant. Meena holds a BS in accounting from the University of Maryland and had previously worked with Rose Financial as an assistant controller.
Dante Williams was hired at the beginning of the year as a Senior Accountant with more than 7 years of accounting experience. Dante holds a BS in Accounting from West Virginia Wesleyan University.
Kay Vollans, CPA, joined our Tax department this summer as a Senior Exempt Organization Tax Specialist with more than 5 years of public accounting experience. Kay holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Master's degree in Accountancy from Abilene Christian University.
Sara Smith joined our Tax department this summer as a Senior Exempt Organization Tax Specialist with 3 years of public accounting experience. Sara is a graduate of Miami University and had previously worked as a Tax Senior Accountant for Dauby, O’Connor, & Zaleski.
Nimia Malats joined Tate & Tryon this summer and serves as a Senior Staff Accountant in the Firm’s Outsourcing Services department. Nimia holds a BS in accounting from Florida International University in Miami, FL.
Rachel Cary joined Tate & Tryon’s Outsourcing Services department over the summer as a Senior Staff Accountant. Rachel holds a BA from the University of Mary Washington and most recently worked for Monument Realty as an Accounting Associate.
Ari Kaplan joined the Firm this past summer as Staff Auditor and is a graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
Andrew Pottle joined Tate & Tryon earlier this year as a Staff Auditor. Drew is an Accounting graduate of Roger Williams University and most recently worked as a staff accountant for Deva & Associates.
Billy Sissamis joined Tate & Tryon last spring and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Firm’s Outsourcing Services department. Billy holds a BA from American University and is currently working on his MS from American University.
David Doher joined the Firm in October as a Staff Auditor. David is a graduate of the University of Michigan and previously worked with Regis & Associates as a senior auditor.
Keaton Ley joined our team this fall as a Staff Auditor and holds a BS in Accounting from Susquehanna University.
Meredith Richman joined the Firm this fall as a Staff Auditor and holds a MS in Accounting from the University of Virginia and a BA in Economics from George Washington University.
Michael Whipple started this fall as a Staff Auditor and holds a BS in Accounting from Bryant University.
Molly Wannen joined Tate & Tryon this summer and serves as a Staff Accountant in the Firm’s Outsourcing Services department. Molly holds a BS from the College of William & Mary.
Samantha Stach joined Tate & Tryon in the fall as a Staff Auditor. Samantha holds a Master of Accounting from the College of William and Mary and a BA from Duke University.
Sarah Spearing joined the Firm this past fall as a Staff Auditor and holds a BS in Accounting from Susquehanna University.
