Tate & Tryon is pleased to announce that John Harder has joined the Firm to lead our new Nonprofit Advisory Services practice. The launch of this new practice is aimed at helping nonprofit organizations develop and implement strategies for improving the efficiency, relevancy and internal controls of their business, financial accounting and technology processes. This new service line is in response to demands by boards, the IRS and other oversight groups for tighter controls, improved budgeting, and more relevant financial reporting information.
As Director of the Firm’s Nonprofit Advisory Services practice, John brings over 20 years of experience in the areas of process improvement, risk management, internal controls, technology assessment and implementation. John began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and later became a partner in PwC’s Risk Management and Consulting divisions. While at PwC, John established and led a team of consultants that focused on nonprofits and other for-profit companies, helping these organizations with business and financial process improvements, internal control design and documentation, financial and statistical reporting, pre/post-merger analysis, and entity-wide technology assessments and implementations. John left PwC with the acquisition of PwC Consulting by IBM. While at IBM, he was the Americas Financial Management Solutions leader for the Small and Medium Business segment.
During his career, John’s clients have spanned a variety of industries including nonprofit, retail, consumer products and technology, and have ranged in size from start-up organizations to fortune 500 companies. He has a BBA in accounting from the College of William and Mary, a second major in Computer Science and has passed the CPA and CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) exams.
