Manager

Department: Accounting
Immediate Supervisor: Outsourced Accounting Services Partner
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: The Accounting Manager will act as a Controller for a number of our clients on an ongoing basis. You will be challenged, provided with a variety of opportunities and become an important part of your clients senior level accounting management team. Supervise client engagements to ensure proper internal controls over client assets, timely submission of accurate internal financial statements, assist with clients’ annual budget preparation, timely collection of receivables and payment of obligations, timely filing of accurate tax returns and other required external reporting documents, servicing client departments and finance needs, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 
Required Qualifications: A CPA with a proven ability to perform “Essential Duties and Responsibilities” as listed. Proven ability to work well with and “teach” departmental managers in the area of Finance, i.e., financial statement analysis/presentation, budgeting, proper coding; supervising and training staff. A service mentality to non-finance departments. Comprehensive knowledge of non-profit accounting standards and issues as well as a good understanding of non-profit tax issues. Strong leadership, time management, technology, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are needed.    
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 7-10 years experience as a Controller or the equivalent. A minimum of five years supervisory experience. Experience with non-profit organizations is preferred.          
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related and equivalent work experience of 7-10 years. CPA certification is required.         
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Extensive accounting software experience, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Solomon, Quickbooks, Peachtree, FRx and F9.
