Background Jay Sciuto is an audit partner with the firm. He has over 15 years public accounting experience with Tate & Tryon solely servicing the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked at Department of Defense and the Office of the Inspector General, where for over three years, he performed compliance and performance audits of DOD departments and agencies, as well as external contractors.
Professional and Industry Experience Mr. Sciuto has managed and performed numerous audits and consulting engagements for a wide variety of nonprofit organizations such as trade and membership associations, charitable organizations, related for-profit subsidiaries, political action committees and pension plans. He has extensive experience with auditing procedures relating to compliance with federal grant awards conducted in accordance with the provisions of OMB A-133 (Audits of States, Local Governments and Non-Profit Organizations).

Speaking Engagements In addition to making presentations to audit committees and board of directors, he has participated and led a number of seminars, including presentations at the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Association Management Group, and the Finance & Administration Roundtable. Most recently, Mr. Sciuto gave a presentation on effective budgeting steps and cost-cutting tips in tough economic times for the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE) 2009 Fall Meeting.
